Winter’s Dance #onRobson returns this holiday season
Mixed reality dance and interactive light installations take over Bute Robson Plaza featuring dance performances and interactive light installations inspired by Tchaikovsky classics.
Winter’s Dance #onRobson is a whimsical, urban ballet combining live and digital dance.
Join us as we transform Bute Robson Plaza into a “Snowflake Winter Wonderland” to create an innovative public space experience using large projections, virtual reality, a mash-up musical score with a truly unique lighting design by Dotdot Productions (featured at 2019’s Burning Man).
Small Stage dancers take inspiration from the iconic music of Tchaikovsky. The Nutcracker - Sugar Plum Fairy and the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty - The Bluebird Variation and Swan Lake - The Little Swans.

Winter’s Dance #onRobson is unique partnership with the Robson Street Business Association (RSBA). Now in our fourth year, we continue to create a magical, memorable, and innovative experiences designed to draw audiences into public spaces.
The Robson Street Business Association (RSBA), in collaboration with Small Stage brings artists and audiences together through unexpected dance and public art works amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown Robson Street.
“Winter’s Dance #onRobson provides a great opportunity to reimagine public space and create something unexpected and memorable for visitors to Robson Street,” explains Teri Smith, Executive Director of the RSBA. Julie-anne Saroyan of Small Stage adds, “I am excited to see another unique collaboration between Small Stage and Robson Street to bring the arts to a public space for everyone to enjoy. It's the perfect setting to create a bit of holiday magic.”
